A while between updates on this site, however not just because Gondwana has been busy. In fact for much of the covid years business was quiet. Although minerals exploration boomed in Australia during 2020-21, hydrocarbon exploration significantly slowed. With much of Gondwana's business at that time more aligned with hydrocarbons and minerals industry needs (in Australia anyway) taken up primarily by electrical-related geophysics in WA and Qld, business dwindled for much of late 2020 through to early 2022. Gondwana did see an uptick however in mineral-related geophysics in South Australia and Victoria to do with Copper and Uranium exploration during that time. During the last 3 years Gondwana has also slowly developed more in-house processing capabilities for potential fields work to replace reliance on commercial software. Armed with these capabilities and an uptick in hydrocarbon related work as well as minerals work from mid-2022, Matthew Zengerer ventured to Europe and SE Asia for the first time since the start of 2020. Visits to EAGE Madrid 2022 and SEAPEX/PESGB Asia Pacific 2022 in June as well as APGCE in Kuala Lumpur in late Nov 22. This coincided with some new potential fields and geoscience projects in Malaysia, Indonesia and Gabon as well as some ongoing minerals projects in the Copper Coast parts of South Australia. So business is now picking up to be on a more sustainable trend. In 2023, it's onwards and upwards with more work in SE Asia and a return to EAGE Vienna as well as a possible return to Australian conferences for the first time since 2019. Here's a small collage of some business adventures in 2022; the Asia Pacific E&P at the Oval in London, the EAGE function in Madrid and of course KL is always spectacular!! See you on the road this year!
